Fit report rules
Honest, specific, and yours.
A fit report is a record of one person wearing one size of one product. These rules keep it useful to the next person and lawful in Canada and the United States.
What every report must state
- The exact size label you bought or tried.
- What happened: kept it and it fits, kept it though not ideal, returned for size, returned for another reason, or it used to fit.
- Your relationship to the product: none, gifted or discounted, rewarded for reporting, or affiliated with the brand. This is shown on the report. Hiding it violates the FTC rule on consumer reviews and Canada's Competition Act.
How a report gets published
Every report runs through the same automatic checks, whether it is glowing or scathing. A clean, specific one-star report publishes exactly as fast as a five-star one.
- Published straight away: the size exists on that product, the required answers are there, and nothing below applies.
- Refused, with the reason shown to you so you can fix it: links, email addresses, phone numbers, social or messaging handles, sexualised wording, or a statement that the author is under 16.
- Held for a person to read: answers that contradict each other (kept and fits, yet two measurements marked very tight), many reports in a day from a new account, other brands named in the comment, wording that closely matches an earlier report, or a declared connection to the brand. Held is not rejected: most are published after a read.
Not every report submitted is published. What you see on a product page is the set that passed these rules, and the rules never look at whether a report is positive or negative.
Helpful votes, flags and follow-ups
- Signed-in people can mark a report helpful or flag it (not genuine, undisclosed relationship, offensive, wrong product). Flags go to a person.
- Sixty days after a report we ask its author whether it still fits and how it has worn. Answers update the report; “no longer fits” changes its outcome to “used to fit”.
What we never do
- Write, buy or invent reports. The public site never shows generated or sample reports.
- Reward a report because it is positive, or suppress one because it is negative.
- Let a brand edit or remove a report that follows these rules. Brands can correct product facts and reply publicly.
- Change a score because of an affiliate rate, sponsorship or payment.
Your rights
You can edit or withdraw a report at any time from My fit. Withdrawing consent for similarity weighting removes your size and shape from the aggregation within 24 hours. Deleting your account removes every report.
